ABOUT ME
I am a Registered Counsellor with a Master of Science in Psychology degree. I have over 30 years of experience providing counseling services to people of all ages (including school-age children and youth), Couples, Families and First Responders. I have earned the designation of Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling through the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association and I am also a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I am trained in several counseling modalities including EMDR and CBT. I have specialized training in Occupational First Responder Trauma and I am in the process of completing my certification as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).
My office is based in Parksville, and I offer in-person sessions in addition to video sessions and tele-counselling.
MY PHILOSOPHY
I strongly believe in the importance of the therapeutic relationship and that the key to achieving successful outcomes is to work collaboratively with my clients. My practice is built on a strength-based philosophy and my approach is based on the fundamental belief that everyone has the potential and capability to grow, learn and change. My role as a therapist is to work together with my clients to help them improve their quality of life and sense of well being. I enjoy my work as a Counsellor and I have a deep respect and appreciation for diversity and resilience.

I provide a broad spectrum of services ranging from brief solution focused support to intensive psychotherapeutic support for issues that are more complex, intensive and persistent.
